Whine noise on acceleration, check engine light
#11
Kweef, that is exactly what the whine sounds like - too bad I don't actually have a turbo.
As for exhaust, no it is still stock.
It frustrates me that the codes are so vague, when the printers at work can tell you exactly where the paper got jammed and how to fix it.

mine makes a similar noise. does it sound like it comes from the gauges area. one time i decided to fly around a corner and forgot to turn off the traction control and after that it make a noise like yours, it was that the traction control was still activated(no light on dash at the time thought). to fix it i hit the gas real hard to make the traction control come on. it fixed it.
see if it might be that. i still have other similar noises off and on sometimes though, mine are very inconstant.

What is the specific P-code for the error so I can look it up.

From your description, I'm pretty certain that this TSB covers your problem.
I've had the problem for years ('02 LS). Chevy kept on telling me they had no idea what I was talking about. I was so mad when I read the TSB 04 b/c by that point the car was out of warranty.
Some owners may comment on a whistle type noise on light acceleration.
Cause
Casting porosity in the throttle body may be creating the whistle noise.
Correction
Replace the throttle body and, if necessary, throttle body gasket. Refer to the Engine Controls sub-section of Engines in the appropriate Service Manual. The throttle body gasket should be inspected and re-used if not damaged.
