Your Coolant Level is probably very low. Remove the Radiator Cap when the Engine is Cold. Fill-up the Radiator with Coolant. Leave the Radiator Cap OFF. Turn ON the Heat FULL. Let the car Run. Be prepared to add Coolant as the Car heats-up. Keep the level of the coolant over the TOP of the Radiator Core. It will drop as the System purges itself of AIR. When the Thermostat Opens ... the Coolant will circulate pushing the Air in the System along to where it will escape at the Open Radiator Fill with cap OFF. Keep adding Coolant until alll the AIR is BURPED-OUT of the System. Have assistant increase RPM's to 2,000 and hold. Coolant will circulate rapidly. All Air will escape through OPEN Radiator Cap. Keep adding Coolant until NO more Air Burps-out. With RPM,s at 2,000 ... Fill Radiator until Coolant overflows from Radiator Fill into Overflow Tube. Seal Radiator Fill with Radiator Cap. Fill and bleed Overflow line to Overflow tank. Fill Overflow Tank to Level "Full Hot" ... Mark Full Level with Magic Marker for immediate visual reference. Keep overflow tank filled to Marked Level. Inspect for leaks.
Absent leaks ... your burning-up coolant. Have the System "Pressure Tested"
