Default Water under carpet

I have a 2004 SS that has a large quantity of water that suddenly turned up under the carpet on both sides of the car. Has anyone had trouble with water entering the car from the cowl area? We have had a lot of rain in this area lately & the carpet has been wet since this started.
I am thinking that maybe there are drains from the cowl that aren't working.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i had that problem with my 05 i had and it was the airfilter under the wiper cowl. the rubber gasket that seals it falls off, just silicone it back on and you should be all good.

If the problem is on BOTH sides of the car, check the windshield seal. Dry out the car completely, wipe down everything and pour some water on the roof near the channel. It SHOULD go around the windshield and down the fender and hit the ground in front of the door.

I broke my seal when I put my roof rails on my car and I had to use some silicone to reseal it. Wasn't hard, but it took me a while to find the leak.

Thanks jpe. It was exactly as you suggested. When the weatherstrip falls off, it allows the water to run through the heater fan & duct work, directly into the carpet. A bit of marine goop on the weatherstrip, take the carpet out & dry it, & its good as new. I spoke with a buddy today that said he was having a similar problem with his G6. I suggested to him that it seems like a good place to start looking for his problem also.
