Sorry to hear you need both axles, but I feel your pain, trust me I just replaced both axles in my car lol. I got lucky with mine and was able to use a buddies shop so the cost was nowhere near what you are being charged, had no idea the seal on the transmission end would go also, I'm glad that didn't happen to mine, but I'm sure it would have had I had to go any longer while driving.

It turned out it didn't need the seal at the tranny
He said it looked fine once they got it apart and clean
So, just the 2 axles installed, $857 including our 13% tax
Lol, I like the Monty Pit
And does it every run good now!
I like it a lot, now I just washed the salt off and it runs even better 😉

I took Monte in this morning. Got a call within a couple hours. It's not just one axle, the other one is bad as well. They don't rebuild them.
Plus, the one that's really bad on passenger side has ruined the bushing and seal on the transmission end as well. (apparently, I should have stopped driving it as soon as the vibration started, but I had places to go
Parts will be in tomorrow, so, if all goes well, I'll get it back end of day tomorrow. $855 plus tax
I think I'm gonna have to rename the car to 'The Money Pit'
