Default Valves Clicking

Im at almost 105000 miles on my 3.9 92 monte carlo SS and my valves are starting to click really bad. Is there any type of additive I can mix with my oil to help stop this. What are the steps to fixing this?

lucas will help, maybe not fix it, i always suggest 1 quart of lucas replaces a quart of oil, but you can put more than 1 quart in and it wont hurt anything...try lucas that may help you out

Lucas will cure the clicking and "may" fix the problem but you should look at digging in there to mechanically fix the problem. It's not clicking for the fun of it.

Also trying running some E-85 mixed with regular gas - add about 4 - 5 gallons on an empty tank. The alcohol in the gas will help eat off the sludge that builds up in the valves and heads and will spit it out the exhaust.

Another good way is to switch to E-10 constantlyor Shell gas. Both will help clean the valves.

Thinking more on this do one or the other. Don't runLucas and then use the Ethenol or Shell gas. The gas might actually flush the Lucas out of the system.

I added a quart of the lucas oil additive and seems to have done the trick. Not only did it seem to have helped that problem but boosted my oil pressure that would drop when the car is idle.

Good. At this time then, avoid the Shell gas or or anything with Ethenol as those may purge the Lucas from the system by cleaning it out.
