upper radiator hose
he people its eric again. i found where the coolant leak was comming from! it was the plastic elbows so i changed then with dorman aluminum ones but i used the o-rings from gm. no leaks yet! now in order to get rid of some coolant so it wouldbt go everywhere i took off the upper radiator hose on the drivers side of the raidator. now when i put it back on my dad pushed it in over that little lip of the radiator. now its going everywhere from that hose. this may be a stupid question but is that lip meant to be like a "dont go past here" type of thing? i want to get that fixed so i wont have a leak anymore

Typically where you slide a hose on something requiring a clamp, it has a "bead" around the fitting it slides over. The hose is to go past that "bead" (you can call it a lip, some call it a nipple) and the clamp goes behind the bead. the bead serves an IMPORTANT purpose. With the clamp tightened behind that bead, it prevents the hose from having any way to "push off" the connection.
Looking at the attachment, the red arrow points to the "bead" I mentioned. The green arrow points to something GM did with this specific T-stat hosing (not found at all). As you mentioned, it's a suggested or implied stop. But it should not matter if the hose hits that or goes beyond it, so long as your clamp is tight behind the the bead (as that makes your "seal"). If it's leaking out the hose and the clamp is tight, you may just have a bad hose.
I hope this provides an answer to your question.

yea it turns out we loosened the clamp and pulled back the hose a little bit and the leak stopped so the clamp may have been too far up or sonething but now my car doesnt have any more coolant leaks.
