Default Tranny cooling line leaking

I replaced my electric fan in my 2000 monte carlo ss 3.8 and it was a pain but anyways I just barely bumped the upper transmission cooling line and the c clip that goes around the line neck that screws in the radiator leaks from the gap where the c clip is missing. Is this correct? Its pooring out from a very small gap, seems kind of impossible. Will a new c clip fix this?

Is this "C clip" a retaining clip to hold the line steady/in place? If it's used to hold the line in place, it sounds like the line has a hole rusted through it and you are going to need to replace the line.
If you have pics, that might help a little.

I know on my '04 the fittings on the radiator have weird shaped retaining clips that hold the line in the fitting. If yours has something like that, then yes you need to replace that clip and that should solve the issue.
