Traction Control/Tranny

Traction Control/Tranny
Well I had to take a trip to Laramie this weekend and on the way there we had to stop and wait for construction. While waiting on the flagger to let us go the Service Traction Control message popped up, shut down the car and restarted to see if it'd clear, nope, still there. While driving with the message on the car was shifting awkwardly. It'd shift hard no matter what speed/throttle but about half a second after the shift it would act like a clutch was engaged for a moment causing lose of acceleration before picking up again. Had about 20 miles to the next town so got there and got gas and checked tranny fluid and oil, both normal and fine. Once we got back on the road the message never came back on and the car started shifting fine again.
Any ideas? I was thinking it must be something in the computer and when the car was shut of for gas it was long enough that the computer cleared and reprogrammed that little bit that messed up.

Hmm....IDK. Weird. Sounds computer related to me too though!
If your car is still under warrenty, I would take in ASAP.....Even though the message went away, the car still stores the code for a while, so the dealer would be able to see exactly what the code was, and why it was happening...It could be the start of a traction control problem, or tranny problem...

Warranty? Haha I wish, the car has about 70k on it now, only took a little over a year of me driving the car for the warranty to disappear.
Think I might still take it into the local dealer Tuesday and see if they can't pull the code still.

Yea I would...maybe you could save something from turning into a bigger problem...
I feel that mine has 72K on it, and I bought it brand new in June of 07...only two years and 72K! Yikes! I have a GMPP 4yr 100K warrenty though. My selling dealer cut me a great deal on it ($1095), so I figured what the heck...so far i've used it twice. Once for the water pump, once for the power steering pump.
