Default Trac Off Issue

i have searched and found alot of posts about service traction control system and abs light. i have both of those lights on as well as the Trac Off light and the button for Trac Off does not work.

as of right now i am just simply covering the light with electrical tape but i would like to get it fixed.
could this all be just a speed sensor or wire or does it sound like it could be in the module itsself ?

also the ABS and Trac Off lights are on all the time. the message center only displays for about 5 minutes after i start the car.

Vehicle Information: 2001 Monte LS 3.4L with 68,000 Miles on her

It could be a wire problem or a hub problem you should check it out ...

Find a place that can read ABS codes and find out what sensor is tripping it. Then you can clean that connector / check those wires.

Could be an ABS sensor in the hub. Common with GMs. You do need to read the code to determine which one, if indeed it is the sensor. Note, your local Autozone will not have the ABS code reader availabel to use, they can sell you one I am sure. I use one of these (only a link, look around you can find them cheaper), and it works great --> aToolCrib.com : Actron (ACTCP9449) ABS BrakeScan Scan Tool [ACTCP9449] - $174.19

The code reader from O'Reilys will read ABS codes, they will let you borrow it (in the parking lot). You'll just have to play around with the reader until you can see how it works.
