Tie rod ends (Shakes, vibrates)
This is a FYI (sorry if this is a repost) Ok, I have been having trouble with the 06' Monte for months. The front end would shake from 45mph to 70mph. If you would turn the wheel slightly to the left it would shake like crazy, but when you turned slightly to the right no problem. I finally decided to jack up the car to see if it was the wheel bearings. I shook all four wheels and none of them had excessive play. I then decided to have all four wheels aligned, balanced and rotated. After $120 spent, I was told that the alignment wasnt off much at all and the tires were balanced. It seemed to drive a little better but it still shook like crazy when I turned slightly left. Ive had it!!! So I decided to take it take Sears. The guy test drove it and said it was the tie rod ends. They replaced the rod ends and whaaaa...laaaa she was fixed. I confirmed this with my friend that is a master mechanic at a pontiac dealership. He stated they go bad fast on W-body cars. No shaking, vibrating at all, but the rod ends at up my new tires. So if you have shaking when changing lanes or at various speeds, suspect the tie rod ends.
