Testing a headlight switch
2002 Monte SS
Just bought this car a few days ago. The first night I had it my headlights wouldn't come on. My radio lights, and my gauge lights were also out. They were on. But, so dim, it was as if they were off. I figured it was just the automatic lights acting up. I pulled out the switch, but still nothing. Thankfully, my high beams would come on. So, I highbeamed everybody on my way home. I went out to check about a half an hour later, and the lights came right on..
Since then, my headlights have not failed to illuminate. But, I'm still having problems with my radio, and dash lights. My radio lights only come on when they want. I have yet to see any gauge lights. The dimmer switch does nothing when spun. When I spin it the whole way, and click it over, my dome light comes on. But, no change in brightness at all.
From my research, and everyone else on here. It is really sounding like a headlight switch problem. However, before paying $60 for something, I'd like to test the current one, and make sure it's broken. I was wondering if anyone had a diagram of the headlight switch, as well as instructions on the best way of testing this.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks alot, guys!

Awesome! I'll keep that in mind if I can actually determine the problem.
(side note: Good job on the youtube page, man. Plan on using your guide to taking the dash out to test my switch..so, thanks..lol.)
