TCS and tranny lights were on, car barely moved...
I was doing some work on my '06 Monte last weekend - had the key in the "on" position, went to remove the battery cable to reset some stuff. forgot to turn the key off and take it out first - of course it got locked in the column. I went to attach the neg. battery cable back on, and since the key was "on", juices started flowing right away and I heard some clicking.
I went to start it up to make sure all was still well, and my TCS and tranny lights were on, the DIC said to service TCS, and when I put it in gear to drive it, the car barely moved - crawled no matter how far I pushed the pedal.
So, I pulled the car back in the garage, and TOOK THE KEY OUT, then removed the neg. battery cable again - left it off for about a half hour. After reconnecting it, I started the car up - no lights, and it drove like normal.
Just wondering if that little stunt would have caused any permanent issues/damage to the tranny or anything -- and what actually happened, why did it do that???
Thanks!!

I'm sure all you did was confuse the crap out of the computer because the key was still. I'm sure there wasn't any damage done, but I would go and get the computer reset just to make sure all the codes are gone.
