Default Tranny problems again

Ok, so I fixed the hard shifiting by having the Pressure control valve replaced along with the boost vavle. Now when the torque converter locks up in 3rd around 30 mph or so it feels really strange. It goes in hards and almost feels like it shudders a tinch, but that might just be me. When it locks up in 4th around 45 mph it's also hard, but doesn't shudder. Is this normal, because it didn't do it before I had it worked on. They replaced the filter and dropped the fluid out of the pan. My fluid is right where it's supposed to be and clean as a whistle. Could this maybe actually be something with the engine causing the shudder or am I imagining the shudder? Any ideas? Thanks!

I noticed on the way home tonight that while I was accelerating, around 35 or so it would seem like the TC would go in and out of locking. Anyone had this before?

yeah i would be taking it back to them on this note.,

But im curoius on why you complained about the hard shifting? was it real hard as in like the system was plugged up or like a shift kit was in the car.
If you bought the car used alot of monte ownesr have the shift kits in them if they didnt take it out this could be the thing causeing your issue .
as it is tryign to shift with the kit and now it cant.

It shifted with a bang, felt like I was hooked onto a building with a tow rope when it shifted. It was my boost valve (leaking fluid past it) and it was sending the P01718 or whatever code that is for adapt long shift and the computer was increasing thepressure. That is fixed now. I went back to them today and they put a tube of something in the tranny and it seemed to fix it. The guy said sometimes the clutches get glazed. They didn't even charge me for it.

you should get some general information from them to see what it was that caused it and also what the price for it to be repaired would be if it was to happen down the line.

I would have bought something for the hard shifting on my car...that Tranny Fluid additive...but my tranny fluid is full.

I DON'T want to drop the pan again.

The fluid additive probably won't fix the hard shifting. Something has tobe wrong in order for the hard shifting to happen. The computer is getting sent signals from one of the sensor in the tranny that something is slipping and that the computer needs to up the pressure to avoid damage to the tranny. It's common that it's just the pressure control valve that's malfunctioning, but something could be actually slipping in the tranny, like it was happening for me. My boost valve was bad and fluid was seeping past it and the computer boosted the pressure to compensate for it. My torque converter lock-up situation, as I found out, is not really a situation at all. The guy just boosted the boost valve pressure and now you can really feel the torque converter lockup.

If I was you I would go to a tranny shop or somewhere that has scanner that can pick up tranny codes and find out what's up. That's how they found the boost valve. It didn't throw a light, but the code was there. Good luck!
