Switch Issues?
My cruise control stopped working about 2 months ago. The light on my steering wheel still lights up and all the cables are connected to the cruise control module. I am led to believe that it's the cruise control switch by the brake pedal.
My directionals intermittently not work or I get a nasty buzzing noise. I am led to believe its my hazard switch.
The worst one is I think my ignition switch is going. I cannot start the car with my key. Only with my remote starter.
I was wondering from everyone if I am on the right track with all three before I buy them in a couple of days.
Thanks in advance!

First off check your VIN here to see if it's part of the larger 7.6M vehicle ignition switch recall from 6/30. https://recalls.gm.com/?evar18=GMcom#/
If your turn signals are not working all the time it could be the multifunction switch.
The cruise control issues could be the brake switch. That's not too expensive to replace if that's what you think it is.

I had to order the cruise control switch at Advanced Auto. I will have that on Monday. I ordered the multifunction switch as well. I punch my VIN number into that site you sent me to, and sure enough, my car made the list. That's money I won't have to pay out. The only problem is, I dont think they are fixing them yet.
My family's 2002 Monte had a ignition switch failure on 6/30, the same day as the recall announcement, so I actually had to pay out of pocket and then seek reimbursement :P
Yeah they don't have the re-engineered parts on hand for them yet from what I've been able to figure out. You still might have some luck calling the dealer to see if they can put a replacement ignition switch in it now and then also when they get the re-engineered part.

After reading the recall I don't think they will replace the switch:
Repair Description:
Dealers are to install two key rings and key cover on all ignition keys free of charge.
They also say to remove everything from your key ring (including the FOB) until the repair has been performed.

I had to submit for reimbursement to GM at a dealer. I have a case number but have not gotten the payment at this time... so who knows.
I think those are work arounds while they wait on re-engineered parts. They had the same directions for the previous ignition switch recalls as well.
