i just bought a 3.8L v6 with a supercharger to replace the stock one for my 2001 monte carlo ss, the new engine is from a bonniville, do i need the wireing harness from it? i wondering if it would be better to have a proformance shop rebuild the supercharged engine seeing that it has 98,000 miles on it or to rebuild myself? i already sent out the supercharger to get rebuilt but that shop olny rebuilds superchargers not engines. and also will my trans fit on the engine and is it beefy enough for the supercharger? alos can i just reflash and remap myECU or do i need one from a later monte that origionally came with a supercharger?

 

you're trans will fit the engine fine.

Are you sure you need the engine needs rebuilding? The 3800 in our Montes is a very solid engine, I would guess at that mileage you may just need a good tune up and you would be fine.

As far as the rest goes, I'm not very informative when it comes to that, but someone will probably jump in
