Yup, I saw this one in my search. A quote from the end of the article:
"And we have to admit, the additional power is nothing to write home about."
So they dropped over $400 for two leaf blowers and other components, added two more gasoline engines under the hood, and gained around 24hp peak on a L98. Gas powered leaf blowers are going to provide a decent amount air pressure, and two of them did provide some boost, but not much. The electric kits just aren't going to get it done.

No, wasn't taking it seriously at all - at least not from the perspective of someone actually doing it. The experiment was interesting though and really shows how much power is needed to generate enough air pressure in a small space to create that boost. I think it gives an appreciation for the engineering effort that has gone into something like the Eatons for them to be able to provide the boost they provide efficiently and in a small space.
