Supercharge Oil Change?
I have a 2004 Monte Carlo SS - Intimidator.....yesterday, I went for an oil change and after having this car 6 years, the guy asked me if I've ever had the oil in the Supercharge motor changed. I used to take my car to the dealer before the warranty ran out, and they've never even mentioned that that oil can be changed. The guy at Valvoline showed me a small bottle of oil that he said only the dealer sold and they charge $250 or more to change that particular oil. Can anyone please tell me if this guy was pulling my leg?
Welcome to the MCF
We have several Member's that have the SuperCharged
Monte Carlo.
I've read that many change their SuperCharger fluid
every year, but please check back on your thread
question to see what our expert tech member's post.
The manual says to just check the oil and top off every 30k miles, but other owners have recommended a complete oil change every 50,000 miles
Below is a link on How to change

p.s. , yes the price seems high for a SuperCharged Oil Change
WoW $'s....
$250 is WAY too much money to change the supercharger oil. Two bottles of GM s/c oil costs like 16 bucks. Just take the squirter out of a squirt bottle, stick the tube in the s/c (there's a screw that can be removed with an allen key), and squirt out all the old fluid. Then just fill her back up so there's enough fluid to touch the bottom rung of where the screw was, then reinstall the screw. If people can get away with charging $250 for that, then I need to start up an s/c oil changing business.
Here is a link to a discussion when I changed my SC Oil.

It is a very easy process.
You will need a Torx head driver ( star shaped ) to unscrew the plug.
If that guy wanted to charge you $250.00 for that........
You might want to find another Oil /Lube shop ?

It's easy enough to do it yourself - just follow the instructions as nascar43 stated. I used a brake bleeder to suck out the old oil. You can get the oil at any dealership or zzp sells it. 2 bottles!
Yes you should change your supercharger oil. I did mine on the Riviera I had every 15,000 miles. It is easy to do as everyone above has said. However if you go to the StealerShip, they will hit you up for $200 at minimum.
There is a website that sell 1 bottle with the exact or as needed Oz's.
I don't know what website it was though, so you dont have to buy 2 bottles when you only need maybe 1 and half. and it was about 10 dollars or so, sorry i can't provide the link.
but 250 is just ridiculous!
*edit* i found it, it was ZZP.

ZZP supercharger oil - $10.00
This is OEM replacement oil measured to be the perfect amount to fill one m62/m90 supercharger. This won't require you to buy 2 four ounce bottles of GM oil when you only use 6 ounces.
