Default Sunroof lube.

Just some information I picked up from the dealer today. I asked what they recommended to lube the sunroof rails and they told me Vasoline.

The service manager said that he found that this works the best and rejects water the best.

I recently relubed mine with white lithium grease. I've tried using this in the past with not very long lasting results.

I came home and cleaned my rails and relubed with the vasoline. The sunroof moved very smoothly. The real test will be how long it lasts. It seems a lot smoother than when I relubed the rails before with the white lithium grease as well as a couple of other types of lubes I have tried.

I just thought I would pass this on for others who might want to lube their sunroof tracks.

I tried both silicone lube and dialectric grease and they both didn't seem to last very long. It is not to say that the vaseline will but I'm going to give it a try.

It seems like the heat and maybe water has made the other lubes I've tried in the past to turn to an almost liquid form which did not enable the sunroof to go very smoothly.

When I lubed mine I used white lithium grease, but I'll have to give Vasoline a try and see if it lasts longer. Thanks for the tip!
