Default Stock deck delete. System msg question.

Thinking of getting a new deck for my 2000 Monte SS. I was reading in my manual that the deck is used to reset and customize the various readouts eg: "Low Tire Pressure" "Change oil soon" and the like. Will I still be able to navigate the menu and clear those or is there a non deck way to clear those msgs?

Thanks guys in advance. The amount of help I have gotten just from reading in here is astounding!

Sure, look in your owners manual on how to reset the low tire and oil life messages using the other factory methods.

Low tire pressure uses the headlight switch and for the oil life you use the gas pedal, it's in your book or search online for the methods, but yep your gold, now lets get that new unit installed...

I just kept the original deck connected to the power and communications lines and put it the trunk. I also connected the left front speaker lines to a separate speaker in the dash to retain the warning chimes.

My manual only lists the method of using the radio to reset or program anything.

Is there a way to program new remote fobs without the original deck?
