Default Steering Wheel Spline

I'm planning to put a "classic" style wheel on my 2005 SS. I know most wheel adapters list fitment up to the mid-90's when airbags became standard, but I know that in the case of my old '98 van, the spline didn't change and those old adapters still fit.

What's the case with our Monte's? I haven't pulled my old wheel off yet, but I'm wondering if anybody has done this. I have to take it apart to fix the horn anyway, so I'd rather just change it. I don't use the radio controls. The cruise controls will be re-routed to momentary switches on the console.

But my biggest concern is this... Will the absence of the airbag freak out the computer? Is there a way to bypass or satisfy it?

I have an aftermarket wheel. No airbag problem, just the light.

As for the splines. I tried an adapter for a 5th gen and it didnt fit. I had to go with an expensive adapter.

Which adapter did you end up having to use?
