Steering wheel controls
Hey everyone. I need help. I have a 2000 monte carlo ss. I am installing an aftermarket stereo. The car already had an aftermarket stereo but not steering wheel control compatible. The new stereo has 3 wires for steering wheel controls and my steering wheel has the buttons on it. But, I'm not finding wires coming from my steering column to connect to the stereo wires. Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you Onion39. That's pretty much what I have found. I thought since the new stereo has wires for steering wheel controls, I wouldn't need any kind of module or interface. Also, I can't find wires coming from the steering wheel that aren't already hooked to something. Any idea how many or what color wires I should be looking for? The car had an aftermarket kenwood deck.in it when I bought it. The door chime and message center chimes all worked. I hooked that chime box up to the new touch screen stereo I'm installing and those functions still work. And like I said the new deck has 3 wires that are supposed to go to steering wheel controls. Thanks again for your help.

Steering wheel stereo control
Hello all. Still trying to figure out how to make my steering wheel stereo controls work. Can someone please tell me how many and what color wires to look for coming from steering wheel? I will buy the module, but need to know what to hook it up too. Thank you all again for your help.
