Default SS Ram Air Hood

Does anyone have the Air Ram hood? If so, how well does it work, and how much cooler does it make the engine compartment. I notice the engine compartments on my 3.8 generally runs hot thought the guage usually doesn't mark past half, so I guess this is normal. I'm considering getting the hood if it significantly lowers the temp in the compartment. Please advise, thanks!

Do a search for MPD at mymonte.com and talk to "stolixilots" there. He has one and has it stylized like this just to cool the engine and not use the ram air. I do know that you do NOT want to set it up for ram air as the plenum gets hot and the alleged cold air it is supposed to deliver is warm by the time it hit the air cleaner. The other thing is the back pressure caused by the plenum is high and you won't receive much air until you hit very high speeds.

The MPD one weighs about 20lbs less than stock and the one at pfyc.com weighs about 10 lbs less.
