Default Speaker issue

I have a 2001 Monte Carlo w Onstar, stock stereo, stock amp in the trunk, but i have installed aftermarket speakers. I made this installation with the assumption that my back right speaker was blown however the new speaker sounds faint and almost nonexistent just as the stock speaker did. i am wondering what my cheapest option is to fix this issue? Is there is broken channel in the Amp? i do not think it is the wiring because i cut the wire right at the amp and wired it directly into the new rear speaker with no success, it sounds the same. Is there any way that I can install an aftermarket amp running the stock stereo? help please, thanks

yes there is, just need to have little knowledge how to connect an amp. or you can just install a new amp and run new cables and not use the car lines.

I went to best buy and the guy told me i cannot use an aftermarket amp with the stock stereo (with onstar) because it will cause technical issues with the door chimes and message center
