Default vibration/could it be transaxle cv? 2001 SS

I am getting a vibration when accelerating. It only is noticeable when I have a passenger and it is on the passenger side. It is a very heavy vibration and it lets off when I coast or let off of the accelerator. It also seems worse in accelerated turns. I have had the rim replaced, tires balanced/rotated, tie rod replaced. Could it be a transaxle or the CV joint? I am new to front wheel drive cars and not familiar with transaxle CV failure symptoms. I did check out the boots, and everything looked fine there.

Thanks for any advice.

bent axle casing!

I do need to point out - DON HATTAN CHEVY in Wichita Kansas, will listen if you have a problem and not try to talk you into getting another wheel balancing!!! Excellent service!

try driving down the road and take the wheel side to side if it is there one way more that the other it is a wheel bearing. is it a vibration or a howl or a combo. what did you have the rim replaced for. it could very well be a bearing if you caused damage to the rim that it needed replacing.

bearings were cool - everything is smooth now. It all started when I took it to the Saturn dealer I bought it from to get the mass air flow sensor replaced. They bent the rim over the weekend they had it and 50 miles were added to the car. Can you say "joyride". i had the rim replaced bearings looked at, the problem stuck with me. The Chevy dealers found the bent trans axle. Good thing I had an extended warranty!

I have the same problem only the other side. Vibration while in a right-hand ACCELERATED turn. Let off acceleration - vibration stops. The vibration is also present while cruising the highway and slight 'bumps' - vibration is present while the car is traveling down and smooths out on the way 'up' and level. I'll certainly be looking into the bent drive axle diagnosis. Thanks for sharing!
