I don't have an owners manual for my 2001 Monte Carlo.So i don't know how to reset the service engine soon on themessage center.If any one can help me a would appreciate it.

 

Go to advance auto or auto zone and have them scane your car and see what is wrong with it first then fix the problem and i think that the service engine light will just go off on its own

 

AAMCO will also scan your car for free.

 

yah you dont want to re-set it without knowing whats wrong first...
there's a reason it comes on

Yeah, get it scanned. Another idea is to just buy a scanner for about $100 at Walmart. Most of the SES lights can be removed using the radio.

 

or by disconnecting the negative battery cable for about 15 minutes... but get it checked for any codes first.

has it been driving the same? everything the same as it has been?? perhaps you didn't put the gas cap on enough the last time you fueled up, creating a drop in vacuum pressure which will set off the light.

 

hey folks it also comes on to tell you time to change the ooil

if you have the stock raqdio in thecar you can do it threw it
OR
if you dont have the stock radio you can turn the key to on but do not start the car.
then pump the gas peddel 3 times with in 10 sec. i think it is.

then trun car off and restart it to see if it took

then scream adn throw a fit and try again till ya get it right.

it will go off this way but sioemtimes it is not the easiest way to get it to go out.
