Security Light - Weather Related ???
Hello.
Have a '02 SS . The security light comes on with certain weather conditions. I made a log the past few days going back and forth to work. (40 miles round trip) It seems when weather is cold (30's to 40's) the light will come on - after 4 to 5 minutes of driving. When the weather is warmer (50's to 60's) the security light will not come on.This is all from a "cold start with car sitting overnight. I took it to the dealer to analyze it. ($95)..They said replace the BCM and a door lock sensor (that is intermitten). (over $1000) WOW!...Needless to say I have a GM Service Manual on order (DVD $35).Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Pete

I was having the same problem but didnt note weather conditions, passenger door lock would work on occasion and security light would come on while driving sometimes unfortunately had to bring my car to dealer 600$ later problem appears to be fixed BCM was replaced... that part from rock auto online was 150$ would have r/r it myself but didnt know how to reprogram it so any data and the ability to interface with this car is probably the way to go if you plan on working on it yourself good luck....................
