Security light stuck ON
I've got an 01 ss and tried installing a remote starter. Yeah hell if i know why, but it never did work out (i think it was the security bypass module) But all in all, I decided to say the hell with it and go back to freezing my *** off in the mornings. (i'm stuck parking my car 1/4 mile away due to college town) So i unhooked all of it and my security light came on. Its not blinking, no issues with starting the car, none of that. So what i'm asking is how do i get this light off?
I was debating about hooking the bypass module back up to see what happens. or trying again to get the starter hooked up.
Any input guys? (i'm trying to avoid the dealership at all costs. I can do everything on my own, minus program the BCM if i have to replace that.)
Thanks in advance!

yeah.....kinda wishing i would have done research on the car first regarding starters.... I have seen some tips & tricks regarding it though. leaving the key in the on position for 10 minutes, turn off and repeat 3 times. so the computer then re-learns the resistance value. I thought about tearing into it and figuring out the resisance value myself then just bypass all of it. also thought about slapping my security bypass module from the starter on it.....
My Security light comes on frequently, but it usually goes out after shutting the engine down and restarting. I've employed to '10-minute rule' (leaving ignition 'On' for 10-min's then restarting) many times when Passlock engaged and prevented my car from starting. Don't know if it would turn off your Security light though. But since it's simple and free, I'd say give it a try.
FYI... I'm purchasing a Passlock bypass module (but no remote starter) to try eliminating the frequent Passlock malfunctions on my '02 MC.
