Default Security light and DRL (HELP)

Just the other day i got in my car and my security light will not go off while i'm driving. And I also keep getting my Daytime running lights coming on and off in the daytime resulting in this annoying ticking comming from the passenger side. Its a 2002 monte carlo ss with 62k.... any thoughts?????

I have an 05. I wasn't having probs w/drl's, but they annoyed me. I googled "deactivating drl's monte carlo" and easily found a site explaing exactly what to so they no longer came on yet caused no probs w/ecm. I involves removing the drl relay and bending one of the pins over. I can't remember which # pin it was, but it worked perfectly. No more drl's. Be advised, in his article he did not address the monte carlo specifically. His article addressed a malibu. It has the same drl's relay setup. You should find the article with ease. Follow the directions. Any problems with your drl's should go away if you disable them. Let me know.

well yes bending a pin on the relay is gonna stop the drls from working...its the same thing as removing the relay.
