GM actually had a 5th gen RWD concept car! It was a bright green one I believe it was before the platform was officially moved to FWD. Under the hood, the strut towers and such looked very 4th gen f-body.
Curious how things would have been for the Monte had GM gone RWD back then....

Yeah its right about 300 crank HP. But thats for the 7th gens. Us 6th gens are stuck with 200-240 stock. And as anyone can tell you 50hp makes a heck of a difference. Also RWD and Manuals would have been fun to see.

A RWD 6th & 7th Gen Monte, what a dream machine they would be...
...I would definately go old school on it with a 383 stroker 6 pack pushing 425hp or go nuts with a limited edition 427 rat pushing 475hp... I would keep an extra set of tires in the garage as I am sure I would melt them off the rims every once in a while... Ahhhh to dream of what could have been...

Well if money is not an option, get in line, there is a shop here in Utah doing a 6th gen rwd conversion for a member right now, I won't reveal all of the specific's but it will be more than the run of the mill chopped up version. The Monte if I remember correctly will be a 2004 and when completed is going to dominate any 6th / 7th rwd conversion.
Turbo Monte, Monte SSV and I are also 2 seaters, rear seat deletes

I've thought about doing the manual rwd conversion but wanted to keep the 3800 and make big power. To do this the manual swaps that bolt to the 3800 suck and can't hold power so that was a big turn off for me.
Mine is fwd making decent power and at the track with a good suspension and tires you can hook decent.
I would love to see the project if you actually do it!
