Hi guys, I was hoping you could help, I`ve swapped in an L67 from a 01 GTP into my 02 Monte SS, the car runs good and doesn't blow black out the tail pipes but according to my scanner my car is running rich, P0172 Bank 1 running rich, so I watched my fuel trims, short and long and the short is about -6 to -3 and the Long is -25 it doesn't matter if the engine is cold or hot, now I guess I should mention I never got the computer reprogrammed for the new engine, I`m having trouble finding someone who can do that. I`ve checked the MAF, MAP, IAC and O2 sensors, they all work, work as in the numbers and graph moves as the car is running, I don`t know what spec is on the sensors.


Also when I drive the car, it drives fine under normal load, misfires like mad under hard acceleration, but I`m pretty sure I know why, I used ZZP fuel injector connectors and they SUCK!! they don`t fit at all, so I`m going to cut and spice the connectors in from the GTP.


I also put the fuel pump from the GTP into my monte just now and no change on fuel trim.

 

You swapped injectors, but you never tuned the car?

Stop driving this car ASAP until you get it tuned for the L67 you now have.

Even if you get a mail-order PCM, you will blow something up if you don't tune. It drives fine under normal load, because you aren't pushing boost and your stock PCM can handle SOME change, but that's way too much.

 

I haven`t driven it too much, like 100 km, (60 miles) driving it like a grandma, but I only have a certain amount of time I can drive it, I`m running a trip permit on the car and in Ont, you`re only allowed 2 and I`m on my second one, and the car HAS to pass e test, problem is, I can`t get the systems online b4 it throws the P0172 code, so I`m trying to get the car e tested and hoping someone can let me know what`s wrong with my car. As for programming, I so far can`t find anyone that can do it around here, I have the GTP computer sitting on the pass seat, but it won`t work in the monte because the VIN is different.

 

Don't know what to tell you at this point. Contact ZZP or Will at Overkill and try to get a PCM mailed to you quickly.

There's nothing mechanically you can do at this point, you NEED the car tuned to the new engine.

Anyone have any idea what gear ratio my car has? I swapped in the HD tranny from the 2001 GTP


if theres more than 1 option I do still have the car and can check RPO codes but I don`t know which RPO code to look for.

 

Should have the 2.93 in the 4t65e-HD

 

2.93 isn`t an option, but I know the HD tranny has different gears than the tranny my car came with, so now I`m confused lol

 

As stated you need a tune and until you have one quit driving or even starting the car. And a gtp has 2.93 gears, gt has 3.29
