Shop around, $520 is way too much to replace one wheel bearing assy. I recently replaced one on my car and it cost me $250.

The part is only $100 and I will more than likely do it myself next time.

I have an '05 Malibu Classic and the wheelbearing at dealer cost is $180. For my '99 Monte Carlo Z34 it is like $60. lol. But yeah, $520 is WAY too much.

I know you'll need a torx bit and your standard lug size wrench...lol. Other than that I'm not real sure. I'm glad we could save you some cash! )

I would go buy a haynes manual for your car. The manual for my '99 is very detailed although I've heard that some say to take your axle to a dealer to have them install the wheelbearing and that isn't needed.

Go somewhere other than the dealership! I've had mine replaced, and it sounds like we have the same car. Believe mine was around 250-300.........NOT at the dealership. Find an independent mechanic and call for a quote. Just call around.

Mine was doing the same thing yours is. From my understanding these hub bearing assy units are POS. I replaced the driver side one month ago.
