Default TIRE RUBBING PROBLEM

Ok, I got on 07 Monte Carlo LS and i just put 22's on it, in order for them to fit the installers used a hammer to bend the rear strut, or whatever that is that hold the rear springs.. Is that normal and has any one else had this problem?

d00d wtf they took a hammer to your car and bent stuff that holds the suspension in place? thats insane man. that could cause your car to always be out of alignment in the rear. mickey and a few others have those big wheels on their car maybe they can answer but beating your suspension is never something normal sounds more like a rig job. btw welcome to the forum and post some pics of your car for us all to see

Well that really sounded like a bad idea. Did it not occur to you at the time that altering your strut to make tires fit is a bad idea? If your wheels are so big that they hit the strut then you need to get different wheels, its that simple. That part of the strut that they beat on holds the spring in place. Alteringit isnt a real good idea.Dont sacrifice safety for big wheels man.

thats not good buddy, they've bent something that they shouldn't have, i really hope that doesn't screw up your ride...they've just ordered you the wrong offset wheels, because my car is lowered and i have 22's on it and no rubbing what so ever, different car, but should be same kind of thing, i think they've just gotten you the wrong offset rim, what size tire you running too?

A tire installer 99% of the time is not a mechanic. By beating your strut tower in even a little bit will through off your rear camber. Get it checked and give them the bill for being so stupid.
