rev limiter & upshifts
#12
Hammered it again tonight on way home. Not so concerned at the moment with trans since others have said theirs shifted in the 6K range at WOT. Mine is definitely rev limited at approx 4K. So my question to you is - what, if anything, can be done about removing the rev limiter or adjusting its activation to a higher rpm level. Correct to assume that it is computer controlled? Is this something a dealer can/ will adjust? tia

a dealership will not tune your car.
Buy yourself a tuner (best option)
Find someone knowledgeable in tuning 3800 engines (2nd best)
Buy yourself a pre-programmed (aka canned tune) PCM from ZZPerformance.com (not the best idea)
Or deal with it :P (obviously worse option)

Embarassed dumb-ar$e here. Turns out "rev limiter" in my case is the common failing catalytic converter - at least according to dealer. Awaiting repair. We will see.
Thanks to all.
Thanks to all.

Brake shop machined rotors - turned on a lathe. One in particular (rt front) was fairly warped. Noticeable shimmy when stopping from highway speed - only after driving awhile when temp of rotors increased. Clear as mud?
