Default Rev Limiter...

Alright so my monte when in neutral or park won't rev past 4000rpm (It's a 2000 ss) I want to make a video of it reving for youtube... but I can't get it to rev that high without it being in gear... Is there anyway around this?

Don't do a gay park and Rev... Do a fly by then.

I can rev high (passed 4,000) Onlywhile driving on the street rolling though.

That rev limiter is in place while in park for a purpose. to protect your engine from damaging itself.

you CAN remove it with a PCM programmer, but those run 500 bucks... do you only want to pay that so that you can rev in park?

You could pay a shady, I mean friendly mechanic to change it for you. Should cost around $75.

This stops the engine from Blowing. Most people just record the sound from idle to 3500 RPM anyway.

Yea this thing flashed in the information box (LIMITED TO 107) ... I was no where near the 119 i thought i was before ...
As much as i would like to remove the limiter, i kinda think it's a good idea i don't

Dannie don't you have a 3500? I think the 3500's top at 107 and the 3900's top at 119.

Advice, invest in the latest radar dector with cloaking. They really save a lot of headaches.
