I have a 2001 SS and I noticed when I was revving it up in the driveway that when it got to about 4500rpm it would cut out. I held her to the floor and it would not let it go past 4500. It would cut out in a rhythmic manor. Any ideas?

 

yeah it is rev limitor to keep you from blowing a motor.
IT is not always a good idea to rev a motor up. i know some folks like to ehar the sound of the car but this is actually not always good for any car.
