It will require more research, but it looks like that PCM reptile sent you was for a 99-00 GM. My guess is it's not compatible with a '02. From my limited experience, it's best to stick with the same service number to avoid compatibility issues.

I understand your frustration, but please remember none of us sold you the PCM nor did a member of MCF sell it to you. We're trying to help as best we can.

By the sounds of things Reptile is not willing to make good on this and offer a refund for selling you an incompatible product? That being said, I assume you paid with PayPal, as long as you did not gift him the money, you can dispute this.

I've done minor PCM services for people. I push for the same service number to minimize/avoid issues. Reptile has been at this longer then I have, so he may know something I don't.

<sigh>, I tried to see what I could find about an interchange for the PCM. Best I can get is the DHP PCM list. I assume Reptile used a DHP PowrTuner to update this PCM. That being said, according to the DHP community, that PCM is not for your car and I'll put odds on it, that's why it won't work.

I don't know the terms of your transaction on this deal, so I don't know if he said it would work with your car or not or left that up to you to figure out. But at this point, I think it's between you, him, maybe PayPal.

IMO, regardless if you have been down this road or not, your best action is to private message him again and state you found this PCM is not compatible with your car or it's defective. If it's defective, then he needs to make things right by you (it's just good business). If it's not compatible and he said it would be (as opposed to leaving you on your own to verify), then again, he should make things right.
Right IMO is making it work or refunding your money and you two work out who pays for shipping.
If he's not willing to accommodate, you can file a dispute with PayPal (pending you did not "gift" him the money). PayPal will immediately LOCK his account (from buying or selling) until the matter is resolved. I had it happen to me because a seller forgot what he bought from me (took almost a month to get it straightened out and was a big annoyance).

i would try to work with reptile and see if you can get your refund back. find someone from clubgp or grand prix forum near your area with a tuner and ask if they can help. how far are you from grand rapid? if you not that far i would call up zzp to set up appointment. im not a fan of mail order pcm i got one right now with bin file problem been sitting on shelf last 5 years.

reptile is giving me a fair refund not a full one, and I live about 3-4 hours from grand rapids, the tune was a full. I just figure I will go with zzp so if its messed up I will drive there and they can make it right

Sounds like you have reached an acceptable agreement with the seller. Happy to hear it. Sorry it did not pan out.
