Default Remote starter isn't working, any experts here?

Hey guys!, I have a 2004 SS N/A and the remote starter hasn't been working for the last few days.

Curious if anyone knows how I can tell what brand it is or if there is any way to test if its dead or not? (It was installed by the previous owners). I've replaced the battery in the remote as well with no luck.

I'm not getting much help online when searching so i figure why not make a post about it and see if anyone here has some knowledge about them. Thanks!

Need more info!
Does it unlock your doors and trunk or has the whole system failed?
Year, LS or SS?
The Alarm unit is usually mounted under the dash. Depending on the installer it could be behind the glove box, radio or by the steering column. The best way to find out what type you have is to actually find the unit.

The remote starter simply just starts and stop the car if I hold the button. It doesn't unlock or lock any doors and it doesn't open the trunk. I may go hunting for this unit in the locations you mentioned, sure hope it'll stick out to me!
