7th Gen ('06-'07): Remote Starter Help Needed
First of all i have looked all throughout google and MCF and have had no luck.
I recently bought an 06 Monte Carlo LT 3.9l, (Currently at 70,000 miles) and since ive owned it, the remote starter has not been working. Every time i try to use the remote start all that happens is i hear a click from the dash area, and the lights will flash, but thats it. I do not have the original fob, but instead have an AstroStart, and is the one that came installed on the car when i got it. Also the trunk button will not release the trunk i have to press the button on the dash to open it, but both the lock and unlock buttons work fine. (200ft+ distance)
Anyways... does anyone know what the issue is and/or what the fix is?
As far as i know i do not have any error codes, but i am going to take it in to checked out just to see. Until then, any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. (Especially now since it has just started to get below 0 degrees here in ND)
If you need anymore info just reply and ill get back to you with an answer ASAP.
Thanks in advance for any and all replies

I feel like the best thing to do would be to get a genuine factory remote and see if that works. Usually you can find replacements on ebay.
I figured it out, it wasn't a factory issue but instead it was my AstroStart system. It turns out the issue was really simple to fix. it turned out that my remote starter main switch was in the "Off" position. After i found it under my dash i flipped it into the "On" position and then the remote start works great now.
Also, thank you Leprechaun93, that is what i was going to do if i could not get my key fob to work.
