7th Gen ('06-'07): Remote start issues
I am having issues with my remote start not working at all. Anytime I push the button to remote start I hear a whirring cranking like sound as if it wants to start.
then When I hop in the car it has a check engine light. The light goes off when I turn it over with the key.
I took it to the dealership they got it to work apparently after they cleared the code and when I got there they couldn't get it to work again. The code is DTC "P1632 undocumented code" this code can be cleared but it reappears every time I try to remote start.
it's not the key fob as I have tried two different ones. I do have the on star system. The computer systems got replaced at some point by the previous owner and the systems are from a chevy impala.
my monte is the 06' SS
Any help is appreciated thanks 👍

I assume this is a factory remote start? As I understand, it will not start if it has an active check engine code.
Your dealership needs to do better than that! P1632 *IS* a documented code in the GM shop book that they should have access to!!

DTC P1632: Theft Deterrent Fuel Disable Signal Received
The theft deterrent module (TDM) sends the pre-release password to the engine control module (ECM) via the serial data circuit. This pre-release password is an indicator that the vehicle key information as processed by the TDM is correct. If the vehicle key data is not correct, the TDM will send a fuel disable request to the ECM, indicating that vehicle starting should not be allowed. The ECM will disable engine starting at this point.
