Remote Start
When I bought my car a few months back, it came with a remote starter. It worked great when I got it but now I find that when I press and hold the button to start the car, the marker lights come on and flash, and the car doesn't start. Anyone have any ideas? could it be the battery in the remote is going dead?

If the lights work when you push the button you can assume the battery in the fob is good, but then a couple bucks for a battery isn't a big loss won't hurt to try.
I would be more inclined to suspect the remote starter brain box. You will need to know the manufacturer of the system to test any more. There should be a circuit in the system that bypasses the passkey to allow the car to start without the key. Depending on the make of the system will determine how that circuit works, after eliminating a possible battery, I would start there.

RE: Remote Start
if it has a hood pin switch, that could be a possibility. My last car had a remote start, and the hood pin switch fell off its mount, and therefore wouldn't depress once the hood was down. Remounted the pin switch, and it started fine again.

RE: Remote Start
When I lift the hod on my car there is a sticker that states a remote starter has been installed on this vehicle. Can anyone give me a clue of how to start it? Does the FOB activate it and if so how do you start and stop it with the FOB?
