remote start

RE: remote start
I have a '96 and was able to find my tach wire pretty easy. There are a couple places to locate the tach wire. There is one in the ignition module or under the hood. The complete list of wires can be found at. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...etail/553.html
The oneI went with was under the hood. Find your distributor cap (follow the spark plug wires). There is a wire harness attached to the right side of the distributor(on mine is right by the transmission fluid dipstick). The wire I used was yellow. This might different on the '99. There is away to tell if it a good tach wire. You have to use a multi-meter. A digital one works the best.
1. First set the meter to AC volts
2. Attach the negative(-) probe of the meter to a good chassis ground
3. Start and run the vehicle
4. Test the wire that you suspect being the tach witht the postive(+) probe of the meter.
5. The meter will read between 1V and 6V if the wire is correct.
Good Luck!
