Default aftermarket remote start

OK! Maybe my previous question about remote start was a little long LOL
Is there anyone who has had remote startinstalled on their 2000-2005 Monte? When you got it did it require any Xtra parts for it to work?

Yes, you need the Passlock 3 bypass. I recommend getting it from Directed Electronics (DEI). You can pick it up at your local Best Buy.

BTW. Installing the remote start and alarm isn't overly difficult if you've installed a dozen headunits in GM cars, but if you need to do one with electric door locks as part of the remote, you need to build relays. It is actually less time consuming and cheaper just to have Best Buy or a professional installer do it.
