Hi, I have a 2007 Monte Carlo ss. And recently someone stole my radio out and seemingly ripped it out. I went to a chevy dealership and they are saying in gonna need a whole new dashboard if I want my new radio installed. And they gave me an estimate of 1800 dollars to get it done through them. I really don't wanna spend 1800 for what seems like a minor chip. All the wires are in perfect condition, it's just the trim is chipped.

 

try a junk yard. get the radio and the dash replacement, or at least teh dash replacement. they probably wont install it because where they ripped it out...is where the screws go to hold it in place.

 

Man that sucks! I'm lucky to be able to park mine in a locked garage, and inside a high security fenced and guarded facility here at work. Sad to see that. I think it's obvious you can do better than what they are quoting, you can even try buying the stock parts online - there are quite a few dealerships that sell online. And do the work yourself! Best of luck....
