Every now and then, the cassette player turns on, then the radio starts to play by itself. It’s the original radio/cassette player that came with the 2000 MCSS.
We usually just turn it off or switch stations. It’s random. We did remove the fuse once but on longer drives, it became challenging to drive in silence, especially in the late evenings. So, dropped the fuse back in and live with it. I had thought about replacing the radio with an aftermarket, but after reading some posts here, I’m unsure if I would have to take it to a
dealer to get it “programmed.”
I just replaced the stock radio in my 03 high sport. It's not really that bad of job. I put in a kenwood DVD head unit with apple car play and android auto with a pac swc module. Everything fit great, sounds great and works flawlessly.

Plenty of good options. If you want a factory radio, you will require it to be programmed to get out of theft lock. As mentioned by @84Pro4Racing , plenty of aftermarket options that are fairly inexpensive.
