Question about advice given for A/C
A few years ago a service technician told me it was a good idea to always keep your A/C compressor in the on position -- even during cold months -- adjust the heater controls as necessary. He said by keeping the A/C compressor running all year, it helps keep the compressor lubricated. Is this true? I know that it helps keep the air dry in the compartment, but am I putting unnecessary wear on the compressor or am I keeping it in good running condition?
Also, what is the coldest vent temp that should be achieved for an A/C? I have a 2007 Monte Carlo LT and I reach about 40 degrees vent temp.
Finally, how often should an A/C be recharged?
Thanks, it has been a while since I had a chance to get back on this site. I have been given some good advice in the past by some of the members here and look forward to hearing back.
