Default Push button start

Has anyone done this? Bypassed the stock key in ignition start/run and replaced it with a switch and push button start? This is something I would like to do but dont know where to start..

Any help is much appreciated.

Even if you bypass the switch the Bcm realizes something is wrong and will shut off the car.

I realize its not just cutting/splicing wires or bypassing the security thats why im wondering what it would actually take to accomplish this. Surely bypassing both of those and some kind of tune but nothing is impossible. Since I made the post yesterday I have brought the car into a guy who is confident he can do it but im still curious.

As you already know some about my build , I will pass on what some possibilities that might occur. I have a push button start. But after bypassing the BCM here's a few things I couldn't get to work because the BCM provides a ground. The oil pressure gauge ,tachometer and gas gauge won't work on the dash but the temp , alt and check engine light work just fine. Also noticed the seat warmers aren't working, possible coincidence. Granted I have a oddball car , I spent many hours trying to bypass the darn thing. Good luck, I hope you can get it figured out.

My best guess to do this would involve the resistor trick to bypass the security system, and a momentary switch for the starter. Then you'll have to have a permanent ON/OFF switch for the systems that relay on the ignition to be on the ON position.
