Unhappy Oil Consumption

Hello All,

I have a 2006 Monte SS also that has oil consumption problems. I live in Rockford Il. and want to know if anyone knows where I can get the DOD disabled and what it is going to cost me. I love my car, but do not want to end up wih just a PRETTY piece of junk.

Default puffing smoke...

Hate to say it, but if you're blowing blue smoke out the tailpipes your rings are more than likely already toast. They have a new oil pan gasket with a deflector that will prevent oil from blowing through the seals, which destroys them; this is supposed to prevent oil consumption. However, once your blowing smoke the deflector isn't going to do anything. You'll need new rings and seals. Just had mine done and now I don't burn 1 drop of oil! The key is to have the deflector installed with the new rings and seals... this solves the problem. If you've EVER complained and had your oil consumption verified, they'll fix it even if you're out of warranty. And if you've already had the afm deflector installed, (new oil pan gasket), then you're golden; they'll use that RO to validate the pistons and rings...

I was reading the comments on the DOD and burning oil. I just contacted the GM customer support about recalls on the 2006 Monte Carlo, which I have one, and ask them about recalls. My vehicle has had no recalls or any pending. The customer rep stated there is nothing documented about the DOD burning oil. If this is a problem, people need to call GM and report it rather than just complaining about it on forums and stuff. For those who have had the problem, you can call 866-522-9559. Im sure it takes many calls for something to happen but if everyone that is having the problem calls, MAYBE something can be done with it in the future. Just info for all of us out there that own these vehicles.
