Problem with heater in 05 LT
so my heat has decided to stop working, I noticed it was taking longer than normal to get warm while driving the other day, and it never did get warm over my 80 mile journey.
Here is what I observed
Temperature gauge, slowly gets up to 175 and never went higher (it was 4 degrees F outside)
No sloshing water sound from the cooling system
Setting the heat to cold worked fine, and it was ice cold
Changing the settings on the vents from feet/hands to feet only or hands only did work
The blower seems to be dying (again, it did that a year ago), and the upper speeds aren't as fast as they used to be.
Where should I start looking to troubleshoot this?

Have you tried changing your thermostat? I had an older car with a bad thermostat, car wouldn't heat up, I changed the thermostat then the heat got hot. $15 for a thermostat and gasket, probably worth a shot.
Fan speeds....is the blower motor resistor what went out last time? Sounds like it could maybe be that.

Just finished replacing my blower motor for the second time in the last year. It did the same as what youre going thru both times for me. I changed the resistor block and the climate control panel THEN the blower motor. Turned out I could have saved the cash by going directly after the blower motor.
Good Luck
