i didnt get a letter i had to get my monty towed to the dealer to get it fixed and they told me there is a warrenty issue about the power steering pump. i wish i new that it ended up taking out my rack and pinion boots they ended up repacing every thing related to the pump. i was happy because they replaced the rac and pinion do to the power steering pump going bad one of the fins shreded up and went threw the whole sistem taking every thing out. but i was ticked that i didnt get a letter tilll i had it towed and got it fixed on there dallar. i almost had a hart atack when every thing went when i was driving and almost peged my lovley monty into a gard rail i was going around a curve on the high way and to let every one know ore cars will not turn when the rac and pinion and power steering goes all at once.all i have on my car is a nick on the bumper and had to clean some things when i got the car back. all i was thinking is no no no brick no no no no no wahoo passed the gard rail.

i think if you would of gotten into an accident, the dealer would have either fixed your car or gave you another car if it was to much damage. this is what a lawyer is for!

I just finally remembered to call my Dad and tell him about this!

He never got a letter in the mail, so he's gonna ask the dealership when he goes in for an oil change soon

i never got a recall letter when my monty was towed to the dealer they told me i dont know if they will tell you over the phone some dealers are strang like that. but i am glad i wasnt a accedent but was lucky to get my monty off on the sholder with out a accedent doing 70 on the high way. thank got there is no ice in southern florida but back on topic when your dad goes in mike go with him and ask about the recall as well to help every one with it. i was told all 06 and 07 monty's and some ss impallas i was told the ss impalla and the lt and ss monty share the heavy doty rack and pinion as well as the stering pump. your dad might have the electronic stering assist so he might not get one the ones who dont have it will get the recall notice

I never got a letter in the mail, but when I took my Monte in for the gauge cluster, they had it in the system that my car needs the recall performed. So while its there, they are ordering parts for the steering recall, and doing that work as well.

i think it is wiered though that chevy isnt keeping up with there cars that they made. what i mean the dealer ships run the vin # of 5 years of there makes see if there is recalls and send letters. thats how the dealer ship i worked at did it they were a chevy hyundai mazda dealer i asked the gm about it he told me i rather have the custimers come in knowing whats going on instead of a upset custimers about to rip off some ones ears. the gm also lowered the prices for routen things as well like oil brakes flushes of the radiator. last time i remember it was 5 bucks for regular oil and 10 for synthetic thats for the oil change for repeat custimers and first time custimers as well.

Default My '05 is mysteriously low too.

Just throwing out there that my '05 was just running low on PS fluid a few weeks ago. Like someone said earlier in this thread, the only reason for PS fluid to be low is a leak. I'm gonna call that number now just to check it out. I'm sure I'm SOL since mine's an '05. Can't hurt to try, right?

for all the 07 guys i called the dealer and they told me that there was a different design for the 07 than the 06. personally i think thats a bunch of BS. they told me that they could check the vin but i didnt have it on me. i will call later to see if some 07s will get some help.
