Playing in puddles
so its been raining her in northern NJ for a solid 3 days now and just after i finished watching the football game at my buddies house i go back to my car to find a sold 3 inch puddle of water sitting on the passenger side floor. womp womp womp seems to be dripping from under the footwell just behind glove box. is this the infamous cabin filter leak or a different part of a weather stripping leak. the car was parked at the curb so the water was running with the tilt of the car to the passenger side if that helps any.

Based on what you mentioned, that is a problem under the passenger side cowl. Check out the thread below, that will help you quickly, easily and cheaply fix the problem for good.

i remember seeing this thread when i replaced my air filter before the summer and this was the first thing that popped into my head when i saw the puddle. no dealerships are open in my area on sundays. is this something you can pick up at pepboys/autozone/etc or just the dealership?

Dealer only man. I don't know what car GM actually built that for (if you can figure it out, junk yard is the next spot you could check).
But yeah, not anything a regular auto parts store will have.

In the short term, you can probably take the front cowl apart and find the rubber weather stripping fell off and put it back on. But long term, that dealer piece is your answer.

When I got the piece for my Monte and wife's Impala, the parts guy at the dealership had to ask me what it was for.

thankfully i got this part before we get smacked with more rain tomorrow.. and cutting those tabs off gave me an excuse to try out my new dremel! also idk if anyone else did it in the write up but i cut a 4inch section off the removed weatherstripping and tacked it on the end the deflector towards the center of the windshield for extra drip protection. just in case.
